Actress Hansikaa is in the midst of false rumors as there is news circulating on websites and other media saying she has signed on a Bollywood film in the lead opposite none other than cricketer Shoaib Akhtar!ut the news is very much untrue as a very agitated Hansikaa decides to refute all of them."I have not met Shoaib Akhtar, leave alone read a script or met anyone else from the production team. News of me doing a film with him is totally false.As of now the only film I'm doing are a South film opposite Junior NTR called ‘Country’ and Kumar Mangat's ‘Money Hai Toh Honey Hai’ opposite Govinda. That's all.These are all the projects I am working on,” says a peeved Hansikaa. So there, another rumour flies out of the window!

Shilpas fine with Southy sleaze!

You must have not even heard of Shilpa Shetty’s Kannada blockbuster, ‘ Auto Shankar’ , which released about two years back in the south! The film however has it all that takes to being labelled as ‘controversial’, especially as it is all set to be released in Hindi and Tamil!The film which stars Shilpa Shetty alongside South superstar Upendra is the story of an auto rickshaw driver called Shankar, belonging to the middle class section of the society. Shilpa plays a boorish lady don who unscrupulously recovers loans given to the poor. However Shankar teaches her a lesson and makes her reform her attitude as the two fall in love!The problem with the film is its dialogues. The film which is badly dubbed in Hindi has some lewd dialogues which are sordid and extremely derogatory towards women. We saw the trailer and were shocked to hear what the hero says in a scene as he tries to sexually molest Shilpa, in order to teach her a lesson!“Tum rape karne ke bhi layak nahi ho kamini, agar phir maine tumko un garibon ke aankhon mein aasoon nikalte huye dekha to tumhe Bandit queen ki tarah sadak pe kapde utarwake nanga ghumaunga.” (You are not even worthy enough to be raped, b****! If I see you troubling the poor again, I will strip off your clothes and make you walk naked on the road like Bandit Queen”)

Do You Express Gratefulness In Your Relationship?

A relationship demands sacrifices. Both the partners sacrifice to make the relationship work. Recently I was with a couple and I was listening to the sacrifices the wife had made. She said- I used to paint when I was young. I was a dancer. I loved hiking. I loved outdoor sports. But now I am so overwhelmed with kids and home that I have no time for myself. I did not ask the husband but I am sure that he has also given up many things to make the relationship work. The question is do either of them feel grateful to the other for the sacrifices? I think that many times we forget that. Let us explore this more.Many relationships destroy person’s desires. Women are anyway expected to give up more to look after family. If her husband is callous about her desires she feels very bad. That may begin a break-up. Though men may not give up as much as women they also give up lot of freedom. Trade Espresso: Same old story

It was a shocking Friday. Both the new releases tanked perhaps because of the lack of aggressive promotion. Sudhir Mishra’s Khoya Khoya Chand, masterful in its sets and ambience, could not grab the audience’s interest.Sanjay Gupta’s Dus Kahaniyaan was the other loser. Oddly enough, a couple of its screenings in Mumbai had faulty screenings. For example, Mumbai’s Apsara at the 10 a m screening began the Nana Patekar episode upside down, leading to hoots from the audience.

Ranbir's Amritsar Nightmare!!!

The last few days have been a startling see-saw for Ranbir Kapoor. While his shooting at the Golden Temple in Amritsar for Siddarth Anand's untitled film has gone off swimmingly, what transpired on Saturday night left the young actor shaken stirred and queasy.Ranbir had to be flown back from Amritsar to Mumbai via Delhi for an entertiament event organized by Sony Electronics.Since it was impossible for Ranbir to catch a normal flight for the event Sony organized a chartered flight to Delhi from where Ranbir was supposed to catch a King Fisher flight to Mumbai just in time for the event late Saturday night.But the Gods of the winter fogs had other plans.Says a Sony spokesperson Vikramjit Roy, "It was an event on Saturday night where the Saawariya stars Sonam and Ranbir were supposed to meet the contestants.We chartered a flight from Amritsar to Delhi for Ranbir as the sector doesn't have have good connectivity.Ranbir reached Delhi but couldn't make it to Mumbai as there was a major snag at Delhi airport on Saturday. All normal commercial flights were delayed. Ranbir had to fly back to Amritsar early Sunday morning."While Ranbir remains tightlipped about the airborne fiasco, members of Siddharth Anand's crew in Amritsar say the actor flew back from Delhi to Amritsar at 4 am and started shooting from 8 a.m."All this is an occupational hazard. And I better get used to it," said the bone-weary sleepless Ranbir on Sunday.

There was a time when Bebo found Bipasha's boyfriend John 'expressionless' but not anymore.She has a three-film deal with Shree Ashtavinayak whose recent release Jab We Met has rocked the box office and returned both Shahid and Bebo to the Bollywood mainstream.Now the production house has decided to cast her opposite John and poor Kareena has just no choice but to eat her own words.In a dramatic turnaround, Bebo has told a Mumbai tabloid that she has no problem working with John. “I have no problem with John. I have heard the outline of the story and I like the basic idea, but I will give my final word after hearing the script in detail,” she says.We wonder if Kareena’s turnaround is just good diplomacy or an actual change in her opinion after watching John in his recent films.Meanwhile, John has made it clear that he has never had any problem with Kareena.

Bollywood star Soha Ali Khan says her mother, a former actress, never wanted her to take up acting as a career.Khan, 29, daughter of actress Sharmila Tagore and former Indian cricket captain Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, said Tagore disapproved of her decision to give acting a shot."She never wanted me to become an actress and even now, when I'm making a mark in the industry, I know she will still want me to do something else."Before her film career took off, Khan worked as a finance professional at Citibank."My mother will always want me to do something else," she said. "She still sometimes tries to convince me how finance was better for me and that I should have made a career out of it."Khan, who shot to fame with her performance in "Rang De Basanti", has a Masters degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science.Her latest film "Khoya Khoya Chand" opened in theatres across the country last Friday.

Hrithik Roshan takes a 6 week break

News of Superstar Hrithik Roshan nursing his bad knee has been circulating for quite a while now, but not many know that the actor had been neglecting treatment so far, in spite of his doctor and physiotherapist's instructions!Finally though, Hrithik has given-in to their advice and the actor is off to Singapore for 6 weeks of rigorous recuperation.Owing to some action packed performances in Krrish and Dhoom 2 , Hrithik had torn the ligament in his right knee and all though it caused him tremendous pain. Hrithik refused to yield and continued working, the professional that he is. In spite of his doctor's advice for ‘No strenuous movements or exercise’, he went ahead and completed the painstaking training, traveling, shooting- required for his forthcoming film Ashutosh Gowarikar's Jodha Akbar !That was not all; the Jodha Akbar shoot got extended due to which all his ads got delayed. Hence once more the treatment of his knee took a backseat as Hrithik completed his commitments towards the brand relationships since even they have their own immense pressures. As a result, the knee did not get enough rest to recuperate and hence now the situation is such that it has become essential for him to put all the work on back burner and go abroad for complete treatment. In fact his new movie shoot has also been delayed because of the treatment now.Says Hrithik, "While working towards fulfilling my commitments to all my work, ads and film, I did not much care about my knee pain & have neglected my doctor’s advise to not put any stress on it and take complete rest if I wanted it to heal."However, going by the present condition, he thinks it's best to take a 6-week break and recuperate fully rather than stretch it further to the point of non-repair. "I am giving my health a prior importance now, so that none of my further commitments suffer in the near future ", adds the star known for his perfectionism.So off he goes to Singapore, for 6 weeks...well, we hope Hrithik returns soon, fitter than ever!

St. Martin's Island

St. Martin's Island is a small island in the northeast part of the Bay of Bengal, about 9 km south of the tip of the Cox's Bazar-Teknaf peninsula, and forming the southernmost part of Bangladesh. It is about 8 km west of the northwest coast of Myanmar at the mouth of the Naf River. The local name of the island is "Narical Gingira", also spelled "Narikel Janjina/Jinjera", translated from Bangla, meaning 'Coconut Island'. St. Martin's Island is a popular tourist spot. Now a days, three shipping liner has regular daily trips to the island. They are Kutubdia, Sea-Truck and Keary-Sindbad. Tourists can book their trip both from the Chittagong city or from the Cox's Bazar city. The surrounding coral reef of the island has an extension named Chera Dwip. In the past 5 years, St. Martin's visitor population, during peak season, on any given day, has gone from about 20 (twenty is not an error) to 3000. While this situation has proven very well for the islander's pockets, it is killing the actual natural beauty of the island. Presently there are many efforts being put forth to preserve the several endagered species of turtles that nest on the island, as well as the corals, some of which are found only on Narikel Jinjera. Pieces of the coral reef are being removed in order to be sold to tourists. Nesting turtles are sometimes taken for food, and their hatchlings are often distracted by the twinkling lights along the beach. Species of fish, a few just recently discovered, are being overfished. Every year the fishermen must venture further out to sea to get their catch. Most of them use motorless boats. There are some off-island business entrepreneurs developing hotels and hospitality centers on the island, but little effort is being put forth to regulate sewage and other byproducts of the tourist population on island. At high tide the island is about 3 miles around, and pinched in the middle. The island exists only because of its coral base, so removal of that coral risks erosion of the beaches. St. Martins has lost roughly 25% of its coral reef in the past 7 years.

We have heard of Karan Johar going shopping in London department stores to buy maternity clothes for Farah Khan, but a better gift came the pregnant ace Bollywood choreographer’s way from best friend Shah Rukh Khan.No, it isn’t the new car he recently gifted her, that was to compliment her on the success of Om Shanti Om . The Bollywood Badshah’s gift for the mother-to-be was a book on baby names!Farah was floored when SRK, the father of Aryan (10) and Suhana (7), came back from one of his London trips with the book. “It’s probably one of his sweetest gestures,” said Farah.“But,” she cracked up into laughter, “the big joke is the book has only English names like John, George, and James. The book is by a London publisher and would naturally have only English names. When I pointed this out to Shah Rukh, he was confused, and sweetly apologetic. He was like, ‘What to do, I got what I found,’” added Farah.Their friendship goes back to Dil Se when Farah made SRK dance on top of a moving train to Malaika Arora’s swaying hips and the tune of Chhaiya Chhaiya. And it has grown steadily over the years. Farah and her editor-director husband Shirish Kunder are gearing up for parenthood. And part of it is choosing names for the triplets she is expecting.“I know people are joking about names and I have received suggestions like Om Shanti Om and Amar Akbar Anthony! But we haven’t ascertained the sex of the babies. So it’s futile to zero in on any names as yet as the permutations and combinations of boys and girls can get too messy. We are not religious, so we will choose neutral names, it’s not a big issue,” said Farah.Yes, but John, George and James are ruled out!

The music album will be a compilation of the title track and some of the hit songs from Saregama's library.Her love life with Saif is rocking as well but she makes it point to tell that there's is no bad blood between her and ex-beau Shahid."That so-called cold war between us was blown out of proportion," she says. "In fact, we had lunch together too, but the media doesn't know about this."So when we read that we barely interacted at the shoot, we laughed it off. Sallu to play Hrithik's father?

If the latest buzz in Bollywood is to be believed, Salman Khan might play play the role of Hrithik's father in irector Samir Karnik’s next film Mera Bharat Mahaan.The film already has a galaxy of stars including Salman Khan , Bobby Deol , Sohail Khan , Dino Morea and Mithun Chakraborty . Now, the director is looking forward to expand this ensemble by signing Hrithik.However, if the casting coup does happen, it would not have Hrithik sharing the screen space with Salman, who, according to grapevine, has a marginal role in the film.Samir is said to be in discussion with Hrithik about the role. However, nothing seems to have been finalized as yet.Sources say the role of Salman’s son in the film demands an actor who fits the image of a soldier. And since Hrithik went through rigorous military training for his role in Lakshya, he is being seen as the perfect choice for role in the film.

A hand-written letter and a beautiful bunch of flowers would remain the highest compliment received by the Saawariya stars Ranbir and Sonam Kapoor.The mega-star not only loved their performances he also compared the two newcomers' performances and their romantic liaison in Saawariya to a Beethoven symphony.The Big B gets distinctly poetic while describing Ranbir and Sonam. "Have you heard Beethoven's symphony? There's loud orchestra followed by a thin flute sound…This was the genius composer's interpretation of desire and destiny…The detiny loud and ominous, the desire soft and gentle.It's like the two protagonists in Saawariya.
